Mapping Pavement Health With Double A.I. Support

Traditional pavement assessments rely on inspectors' windshield surveys to determine a road's condition. This method is not only time-consuming but also can lead to inconsistent results, as the output may have been biased in the manual process. Quality control among multiple inspectors is sometimes a critical issue in the conventional pavement assessment. The use of multiple inspectors can also lead to mixed consistency in the results.
Smart Pavement Management (SPM) uses two artificial intelligences in a singular approach to automate data collection and pavement distress analysis. The first A.I. works as a pavement inspector, using advanced image recognition to quickly scan the pavement surface and uniformly identify distress features such as tight cracks and alligator cracks. The second A.I. then takes over to quantify the severity of the distress and assign an unbiased rating. SPM's "A.I. duo" delivers a streamlined approach to objective pavement inspection.
